Abstract

В документе основное внимание уделяется сопоставлению национальной идентичности между будущими учителями в Словакии и Сербии = The paper is focusing on the comparison of the national identity construct between future teachers in Slo-vakia and Serbia. The National Identity Scale NAIT (Čorkalo, Kamenov, 1998) was used for measuring na-tional identity. The research sample included 163 students with Slovak nationality and 163 Serbian national-ity students (N – 326). The total number included 12% men and 88% women. Within both researched groups, the intercultural comparation analyses evaluated the parameters of a gross score from a questionnaire and an exploration factor solution of the construct. The research findings indicate that the Slovak future teachers show higher level and consistency of national identity. At the same time, our research proves that Slovak stu-dent teachers’ national awareness is encouraged mainly by the feeling of patriotism, Serbian students are more stimulated by the feeling of nationalism. The results are discussed in the context of future teacher train-ing from the perspective of focusing on tolerance and multiculturalism.
