Изучение поселений І тысячелетия н. э. в правобережной части Витебского Подвинья в 2019 году

Abstract

The article summarizes the preliminary results of the study of settlements in the right-bank part of the Vitebsk Podvinуе in 2019: the settlements of the early Iron Age Zagortsy-Stepanovichi (Gorodoksky district) and the settlements of the era of the Great Nations Migration near the village of Zaronovo (Vitebsk district). The materials obtained made it possible to establish the time of functioning of one of the oldest settlements of the Vitebsk Podvinуе (the last quarter of the 1st millennium BC – the first half of the 1st millennium AD), to study the fortifications of the settlement, to characterize certain aspects of the material culture of the population. Excavations of the village of Zaronovo confirmed the conclusion about penetration into the Vitebsk Podvinye from the second quarter of the 1st millennium AD. from the south of individual groups of the Proto-Slavic population and their autonomous living in the Baltic environment.
