Сакральныя вобразы ў жывапісе Ізраіля Басава

Abstract

В статье анализируется живопись Израиля Басова, которого считают представителем белорусского авангарда последней четверти 20 века, модернистом эпохи соцреализма и сурового стиля. = The article reveals Israel Basov’s painting, the artist who is considered to be the predecessor of the Belarusian vanguard of the 1980- 1990-s, a modernist of the epoch of Socialist Realism and harsh style. Stages of his stylistics development are considered, the early period as well, with traditional realistic interpretation of the picture image, gradual departure from sesanism and shape multilayer surface of the canvas, revealing a laconic and full ideogram of Primitivism and, finally, entering the transcendental sign of abstraction. Symbolic content of his urban, rural and nature sights, is disclosed where archetype images of the mount, town, church, life tree, arch-gate present the idea of the axis of the world. Special attention is drawn to the works of the late period of his creativity where images of the woman, love and fidelity, existence of human life are closely linked to the religious and spiritual tradition.
